Author Guidelines

Welcome to Kalyani Sishu Barta – where every child is a creator!

We believe every young mind has a story to tell, a picture to draw, a poem to share, or an idea to explore. If you're ready to be published in a real children’s journal, here’s everything you need to know!

Who Can Contribute?

  • Children between the ages of 6 to 14 years can submit their work.
  • Submissions can be made individually, through schools, or with help from parents/guardians or teachers.
  • We accept contributions in English, Bengali, or any Indian language (with English translation, if possible).

What Can You Send Us?

We accept original works across a wide range of categories:

  • Stories: Fiction, fables, folk tales, or your own creative adventures.
  • Poems: Rhymes, verses, or free-flowing thoughts on any theme.
  • Drawings and Paintings: Art that expresses your ideas, dreams, or favorite things.
  • Essays: Reflections on topics like nature, friendship, festivals, or your role models.
  • Science Corner: Fun facts, simple experiments, or ideas that make us go “Wow!”
  • Book Reviews: Tell us about a book you loved and why others should read it.
  • Riddles and Puzzles: Can you create one that challenges our readers?
  • Comics: Short, child-appropriate comics or story strips.

Note: All work must be original and created by the child (with guidance, not ghostwriting).
